FROM EVERYONE AT FETCH

Congratulations on your new role.

You're in. Here are a few tips to help you settle in quickly, and a reminder that we're still here if you ever need us.

Your First Few Weeks.

Here are a few things that will help you hit the ground running in your first few weeks.

01

Introduce yourself

Do not just stick to your immediate team. The more people you meet early on, the easier everything else becomes.

02

Learn how the business works

Every company has an unofficial way of getting things done. Pay attention and you'll pick it up fast.

03

Understand the culture

Watch what is valued, how people communicate, and what good looks like here. It is different everywhere.

04

Be patient with yourself

Settling in properly takes time. You do not need to have everything figured out in week one.

05

Show up ready

On time, prepared, and with a positive attitude. First impressions are built across the first few weeks.

06

Ask questions

Curiosity is always well received. Nobody expects you to know everything, so ask early and ask often.

Tips for hitting the ground running.

Small habits that make a big difference in the first few months.

01

Update your LinkedIn

Connect with everyone you meet. Your network grows fastest in the early days.

02

Learn the language

Every business has its own acronyms. Pick them up and you'll feel like you belong sooner.

03

Take actual notes

You'll absorb a huge amount of info. Writing it down beats relying on memory every time.

04

Say yes to social invites

Team lunches, walks, catch-ups — these build relationships faster than any formal meeting.

05

Ask what success looks like

Ask your manager early — you'll get a clearer picture than any job description can give.

06

Bookmark the team page

Find the Meet the Team page on the website or LinkedIn — a simple way to remember names.

Ongoing Support

Starting a new role comes with a lot of unknowns. Whether it's navigating a tricky situation, understanding your entitlements, or just needing a sounding board, we're here for the first 6 months to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.

Always available

We know questions don't always come up at convenient times. If something crops up about your employer, your contract, your role, or anything in between, don't hesitate to pick up the phone or send us a message. No question is too small, and we'd much rather you ask than sit on something.

Onsite visits

Once you've had a chance to settle in and find your feet, your consultant will look to come and see you in person. It's a chance for us to check in properly, meet the team you're working with, and make sure everything is going as it should for you and your employer.

Your recruitment partner

Our relationship doesn't end the moment you accept an offer. We genuinely care about how your career progresses and we're invested in your long-term success. Whether it's now or years down the track, Fetch is a resource you can always come back to.
