The Builder:
  • A well-known, respected and long standing Tier 2 builder
  • Detailed new builds and refurbishments in Industrial, Institutional, Commercial and Residential projects
  • Strong client base, enabling the builder to work on some of Melbournes most Exclusive and Exciting Projects
  • Projects Range from $10mil to $500mil
The Project:
  • Working on either a commercial tower ($65m) in the city or industrial facility ($80m) in the western suburbs
The Role:
  • Oversee operations to ensure Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Plans and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation requirements are consistently met.
  • Consult with operational teams to identify, communicate, and resolve safety concerns effectively.
  • Safety Inspection and Hazard Mitigation: Conduct HSE inspections to identify hazards and implement necessary controls to mitigate risks.
  • Safety Communication and Coordination: Organise site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety meetings to promote a culture of safety.
  • Strategically plan and forecast risks associated with facility activities.
  • Validate that contractor HSE documentation, including insurance and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMSs).
  • Fulfill associated reporting and administrative responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner
Must Haves:
  • Possession of a Cert. IV in OHS/WHS or equivalent experience, such as a background in a relevant trade.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Sound familiarity with current Australian workplace health and safety legislation and plant safety requirements.
