Our client is a National Tier 2 Civil Contractor with multiple sites across Melbourne and out to Geelong. Specialising in Subdivision, Road & Drainage projects they are looking to expand their team following a number of recent, successful tenders. Multiple vacancies are on offer for candidates who wish to begin a career in Pipelaying. Full training will be provided and the role will go FT after probation - the FT position will also include your own work vehicle!!
Day to day duties will include the following:
- Read and interpret plans to determine layouts and materials
- Learn to install Stormwater, Sewer, and Water Mains
- Utilise pipe lasers, dumpy levels, grade rods and relevant equipment
- Grade and level trench base using tamping machine and hand tools
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement
- Utilise pipe lasers, dumpy levels and relevant equipment
The pay & benefits
- $34 – $45 p/h – rate will depend on experience
- $21.94 p/d travel allowance
- $19 p/d meal allowance **applicable after 9.5 hours worked
- Penalty rates for all overtime worked – UP TO 20 HOURS A WEEK ON OFFER!!

- Long term, consistent work leading to a FT position with vehicle
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Australian Driver’s license and own transport
- White Card
- Genuine interest in a career in Pipelaying
- Background in civil, plumbing or associated trade (Desirable)
- Confined Space Certificate / High Risk Dogman Ticket (Desirable)
- Self-motivation, ambition and drive
