Team Leader – Construction (Established/Hot Desk)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experience manager or Team Leader to join Fetch Recruitment in our Melbourne office to take over one of our highest performing, well-established desks and lead a team within our Construction division.
The desk has been developed over a decade and comes with existing client relationships, active job flow, and a strong candidate database, giving the successful person a great platform to build on from day one.
You will be leading a high-performing construction team of 2 consultants, within a broader permanent recruitment team of 10, working alongside experienced recruiters who have strong reputations and vast amount of knowledge in the industry, and a management team who recognises excellence and provides support throughout all areas of professional development.
The Role
This position is a Team Leader role, and while previous leadership or management experience is preferred, experienced consultants looking for the next step in their career are encouraged to apply. Starting with a team of 2, we plan to grow to a team of 4. This is a 360-degree recruitment role, where you will manage the full recruitment process from client engagement through to candidate placement while also managing and leading a team. You will inherit existing clients and active roles, providing a strong foundation to deliver quality placements while also growing the desk through business development and new client relationships. You will work closely with and lead an experienced construction team and have access to Fetch’s established database and networks, while taking ownership of your desk and driving its continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high billing Construction Division
- Work closely with the management team to drive performance and growth
- Manage and maintain existing client relationships across the construction industry
- Recruit temporary and contract construction candidates
- Manage and coordinate a temporary workforce, including placements and ongoing communication
- Run a 360-degree recruitment desk, including candidate sourcing, screening, client management, and placement delivery
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with prospective clients
- Utilise Fetch’s 10+ year database and established networks to build talent pipelines
- Maintain regular communication with both clients and candidates to ensure strong relationships and successful placements
About you – key requirements
- Experienced recruiter with 4+ years' experience in construction industry, or an experienced sales manager with 4 + years' experience in construction sales
- Experience managing a 360-degree recruitment desk and generating new business
- A consistent billing history or strong sales performance
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-starter with a proactive and self-driven approach to work
- Recruiters currently working on blue collar desks who are looking to expand into white collar recruitment would also be encouraged to apply
