I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected construction business delivering critical projects within the disaster recovery sector. Due to an increase in workload, we are seeking a qualified Carpenter ready to step into a Leading Hand or Junior Site Manager role to deliver three modular builds for emergency accommodation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful project while being supported by an experienced Project Manager, as well as established in-house trades and contractor teams.
The Role:
You will take the lead on-site, coordinating the construction and delivery of modular accommodation builds. While a carpentry background is essential, this role is primarily supervisory with minimal time required on the tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure works are delivered on schedule
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and in-house trades
- Maintain site safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Liaise with the Project Manager and provide regular progress updates
- Manage materials, deliveries, and site logistics
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved
- 4-month contract with immediate start
- Hourly rate: $50 – $60 p/hr (based on experience)
- Accommodation provided (Kingaroy or Toowoomba)
- Fuel expenses covered

About You:
- Qualified Carpenter with strong site leadership experience
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand or Junior Site Manager role preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to drive programs and manage multiple trades effectively
