My client is one of Australia’s largest and most respected fitout contractors, delivering hundreds of commercial projects across the country each year. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and delivering complex refurbishments within live environments, they are now seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead an upcoming project in Cairns CBD.
This role will see you overseeing a $3 million hotel refurbishment, commencing ASAP and scheduled for completion in July 2026. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations and coordinate subcontractors and trades
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project timelines
- Maintain strong site safety standards and enforce WHS compliance
- Monitor construction progress and report updates to the Project Manager
- Coordinate deliveries, site logistics, and material management
- Conduct site meetings and manage subcontractor performance
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and oversee defect management What is Required
The successful candidate will be a hands-on Site Manager with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive programme outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
To be considered, you will have:
- A commercial construction background
- Proven fitout and new build experience
- Strong ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors
- Relevant carpentry qualifications
- A current First Aid Certificate
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A current QBCC licence(advantageous but not essential)
