- Join a team of 8 in the preconstruction team including Estimators, Bid Coordinators and admin support
- You will be running your tender with a high degree of independence, typically up to $15m in size - community, education, health and more
- You will be a key senior member of the Estimating team with a genuine opportunity to progress to a leadership role if desired.
- Sub-contractor selection and issue of tender documentation for pricing
- Attending client tender briefings and site inspections
- Sourcing best rates from suppliers
- Taking off quantities and preparing rated bills
- Preparing scopes of work
- Submitting requests for clarification during the tender process
- Chasing up sub-contractor pricing to meet deadlines
- Comparison and following up clarifications from quotations received
- Assist in preparing all required tender submission documentation
- Attend tender review meetings with management team
- Providing further information as requested once tenders have been submitted
- Preparing cost plan budgets from early concept stage drawings
- Assistance in the valuation of variations as required
- Providing further clarifications during the course of a project to clients & project teams
- Carrying out value management cost saving exercises
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A solid base working within Estimating within a commercial builder gained over a several years
- Good knowledge of commercial building methodology and an ability to interpret building plans and specifications
- Outstanding communication and relationship building skills – you must be able to maintain existing subcontractor relationships and develop new ones in time
- A willingness and ability to mentor, guide and share your experience and knowledge to less experienced members of the team.
- Experience in the use of Buildsoft Cubit or similar
