Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain accurate 3D models of electrical services using Revit and Navisworks in compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
- Lead the modelling and coordination of electrical services with other disciplines (HVAC, hydraulics, fire, structure, architecture).
- Produce coordinated shop drawings, installation details, and prefabrication drawings as required.
- Work with the BIM Manager and project teams to ensure consistent standards, workflows, and quality control across all models.
- Participate in and occasionally lead clash detection sessions using Navisworks or similar tools, resolving issues with stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and mentoring of junior modellers and contribute to team capability building.
- Collaborate with construction teams to support buildability, site coordination, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure all BIM work adheres to the businesses digital engineering standards, QA processes, and client deliverables.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical BIM modelling for commercial or infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage (AutoCAD, BIM 360, Dynamo knowledge advantageous).
- Deep understanding of electrical systems including power, lighting, communications, and containment.
- Experience working in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor or design consultancy environment.
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and federated modelling processes.
- Familiarity with Australian building codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Building Design, or similar discipline (TAFE or equivalent).
- Additional training in BIM or Digital Engineering highly desirable.
- Electrical trade background or prior site experience (advantageous but not essential).
