- Commercial builders in Melbourne’s southeast – diverse mix of commercial, childcare, educational and light industrial builds.
- PM role – with a specialist in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors – you will be working on new build projects and strengthening their capabilities in this built form.
- CA role – working with a nominated PM on two projects concurrently with additional guidance and support from a Commercial Manager
- Both these builders have undergone sustained, organic growth over the past 5 years and are seeking candidates to growth their career in tandem with them.
Your Responsibilities
As a Project Manager you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of new build projects, typically to the value of $10m. You will thrive on ownership, be a clear communicator (client and subbie relationships are key with this company) and can lead teams with confidence. Your key duties will be
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle
- Liaise with clients, consultants and site teams
- Drive scheduling, procurement and budgeting
- Ensure compliance quality and safety standars are met.
- Projects will include bulky goods retail, light industrial, fast food
As a Contracts Administrator you will play a key role in keeping the commercial engine of their projects running smoothly – handling contracts, variations, procurement and compliance with finesses. You will also play a key role in supporting the site delivery team in general coordination duties from head office, and site as required. Your key duties will include:
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts
- Manage RFI’s, claims, variations and procurement processes
- Support the PM with financial reporting and project documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders such as architects, superintendents and regulatory authorities.
- Projects are likely to be childcare, education and commercial grade apartments.
Experience/Qualifications/Salary:
For the PM role:
- A track record in successful delivery of commercial construction projects within a head contract environment (D&C experience would be highly regarded)
- Exceptional grounding in project financials
- Strong understanding of project management software and reporting
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, or equivalent
- A salary package up to $180k is available, dependent upon experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management (or simila) is essential with proven experience as a CA or PC within the commercial construction sector in Australia
- An ability to read and interpret plans, have strong financial acumen and be well organised
- Exceptional communications skills – you will be liaising with subbies and project stakeholders on a daily basis
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- A salary package up to $130k is available, dependent upon expeirence
