I'm looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join a growing organisation delivering projects across Construction, infrastructure, Disaster Recovery, Energy and related sectors. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the entire preconstruction and bid function, from opportunity identification through to tender submission, client engagement and post-tender review.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a critical role in shaping growth strategy, identifying new opportunities and leading high-performing bid teams to secure major projects across both public and private sectors.
About You:
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Preconstruction or Senior Tendering role.
• Proven experience managing complex, high-value tenders within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess tender documentation, develop winning strategies and challenge project assumptions.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating internal and external contributors.
• Strong understanding of government and private sector procurement processes.
• Self-motivated, strategic and capable of operating within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the end-to-end tender and bid process across multiple project streams.
• Drive bid/no-bid decisions based on strategic alignment, resource availability and commercial viability.
• Develop winning tender strategies, including client engagement plans, market intelligence and key differentiators.
• Collaborate closely with estimating teams to ensure pricing strategies are competitive, commercially sound and aligned with project objectives.
• Maintain and manage a national pipeline of opportunities, identifying projects through client relationships, industry networks and procurement platforms.
• Lead bid kick-off meetings, review workshops and tender debrief sessions.
• Ensure all submissions are compliant, professionally presented and delivered within required timeframes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, alliance partners and key industry stakeholders.
