This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing all blasting and painting activities within a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of painters, blasters, and trade assistants while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will play a key role in coordinating workshop operations, managing production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Supervision
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of painters, blasters, and trade assistants.
- Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
- Monitor workforce productivity and ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
- Foster a positive safety-first culture across the workshop.
- Manage employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Plan and coordinate daily blasting and painting activities.
- Allocate labour, equipment, and materials to meet production schedules.
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources as required.
- Ensure jobs are completed within allocated timeframes and budgets.
- Coordinate workflow between fabrication, blasting, painting, and dispatch departments.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maximise efficiency.
- Assist with estimating labour requirements and project durations.
