Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will take ownership of all Work Health and Safety matters onsite, ensuring compliance and driving a strong safety culture across this complex construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, implement, and maintain the site WHS Management Plan
- Review, approve, and monitor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for high-risk construction work
- Identify hazards and implement effective risk controls (heights, plant & traffic, silica, asbestos, electrical risks)
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks
- Manage contractor and subcontractor WHS compliance, licences, competencies, and inductions
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety communications
- Manage incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, and SafeWork NSW notifications
- Facilitate consultation with workers, HSRs, and safety committees
- Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture
- Proven OHS experience on large construction projects
- Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation
- Confident communicator with a hands-on, site-based approach
- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety - a must
