The Role
This is a hands-on Leading Hand / Foreman position where you’ll be on the tools while still running the day-to-day site. You’ll lead a small carpentry crew and coordinate trades, with direct support from a Director / PM to help keep the job moving and remove roadblocks.
You’ll suit this if you’re a strong carpenter who naturally leads from the front, keeps standards high, and can drive a programme without needing a big team around you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small carpentry crew on architectural builds and renovations
- Hands-on carpentry across key stages of the build
- Day-to-day site leadership: safety, quality and workflow
- Coordinate subcontractors and deliveries with the Director / PM
- Read plans, set out works, manage defects and maintain high finish
- Keep the site organised, productive and presentable
- Help mentor apprentices and junior carpenters
About You:
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand / Foreman Carpenter (or ready to step up)
- Strong background in high-end new builds and/or renovations
- Comfortable running small crews and coordinating trades
- High standards for detail, finish and presentation
- Reliable, level-headed, and confident communicating with clients/design teams
- Trade qualified carpenter preferred
