About the Role
As the Drawing Office Manager, you’ll oversee a team of mechanical drafters and BIM techs, ensuring coordinated, accurate, and buildable documentation from concept through to construction. You’ll work closely with in-house engineers, project managers, and site teams to maintain design integrity, streamline workflows, and elevate drafting standards across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical drafters/BIM technicians
- Manage drawing workflows, drafting standards, and project documentation delivery
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and site teams to ensure accurate design outcomes
- Oversee clash detection, services coordination, and model accuracy
- Implement best-practice CAD/BIM processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Review and approve drawings prior to issue
- Support tender and design development documentation when required
- Significant HVAC drafting experience within commercial D&C projects
- Proven leadership or team-lead experience within a contractor environment
- Good client facing skills
- Strong Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and BIM coordination skills
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management abilities
- A proactive approach to improving systems, processes, and team capability
- Well-established D&C contractor with a strong reputation in the Melbourne market
