An established civil construction business is seeking an experienced Finance/Payroll Manager to join their team in a pivotal, hands-on role. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys ownership of their function, and wants to work closely with the Director to support strong financial performance and growth.
The Role You will be responsible for managing the full financial function, with key duties including:
- End-to-end payroll for approximately 140 staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable management
- Preparation of budget reports, forecasts and financial analysis
- Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Supporting the Director with insights, recommendations and commercial guidance
- Maintaining clean, accurate and compliant financial records
- Process improvement and strengthening internal financial controls
- Must have accounting/finance experience within construction or civil construction
- Previous experience as a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar
- Strong experience with end-to-end payroll(high volume preferred)
- Solid AP/AR knowledge and full-function accounting capability
- Advanced Xero skills – essential
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and time management
- Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of the finance function
- Competitive salary: $100,000–$120,000 + super
