Key Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of the client contract requirements.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with the client and relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee and deliver all aspects of project execution, including:
- Coordinating internal construction supervisors, teams, resources, and subcontractors to ensure quality and profitable delivery of works.
- Preparing projects for implementation based on completed designs.
- Managing the overall project lifecycle, including scope definition, cost control, schedule planning, and resource allocation.
- Participating in both pre- and post-tender activities, as required.
- Ensuring projects meet design specifications, client expectations, and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitoring and updating project schedules and plans regularly.
- Preparing and managing project submissions, quotes, and variation documentation.
- Leading quality assurance activities including the development and implementation of Quality Management Plans (e.g., Inspection & Test Plans).
- Ensuring HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards are applied consistently across all project and work sites.
- Conducting regular audits and inspections of sites and subcontractors.
- Managing all aspects of project resourcing including:
- Workforce and plant allocation.
- Procurement and control of construction materials.
- Providing support in estimating and quantity surveying
- Negotiating with, engaging, and managing subcontractors.
- Adhere to all HSEQ procedures and take proactive steps to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals impacted by the work, both on-site and in the community.
- Assist with invoicing, end-of-month reporting, and other financial documentation.
- Attend client meetings as required in relation to assigned responsibilities
- Degree in construction-related engineering (preferred).
- 10–15 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Construction Supervisor.
- 8–10 years in Project Management, ideally in mid-tier civil construction.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage variations.
- Proven leadership of supervisors and engineering teams.
- 4–5 years as a Foreman/Supervisor in road construction or maintenance.
- Experience in roadworks, drainage, concrete, and remediation to VicRoads and council standards.
- Skilled in planning, scheduling, and delivering civil works on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of mobile plant operations and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of government regulations, codes, and specifications for infrastructure projects.
