We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will have strong estimating experience across civil infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on drainage, sewer, and water works. You will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders and supporting the delivery of major civil projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for civil infrastructure projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Estimate projects involving drainage, sewer, and water infrastructure
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain pricing
- Conduct quantity take-offs and risk assessments
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain accurate estimating records and databases
- Support pre-contract and post-tender negotiations as required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
as a Civil Estimator
- Proven experience in drainage, sewer, and water infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and materials
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work autonomously and meet tender deadlines
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Experience working on projects within the Melbourne or Victorian market
- Knowledge of local authorities and water authority standards
