The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of asphalt paving crews. This includes managing personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure high-quality paving work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of asphalt paving processes, and experience managing crews in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the asphalt paving crew.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed in compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Plan, organize, and assign tasks based on project requirements and timelines.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate project goals and timelines.
  • Monitor and manage equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Train and mentor crew members, promoting teamwork and job performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily production, labor, materials, and job site conditions.
  • Identify and resolve work problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in construction or paving is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project specifications.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license
