Our client provides maintenance to university/school and are seeking a skilled Maintenance Carpenter to join our team. The Maintenance Carpenter will be responsible for maintaining the physical appearance and structural integrity of all campus facilities, including buildings, fixtures, furniture, and equipment. The Maintenance Carpenter will work in conjunction with our maintenance team and report to the Facilities Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform carpentry repairs, installation, and maintenance on campus buildings and structures, including walls, doors, floors, windows, ceilings, and roofs
  • Install and maintain furniture, shelving, and other fixtures in classrooms, offices, and other campus spaces
  • Repair and install drywall, patch holes, and apply plaster or other finishing materials as needed
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as painting, sealing, and weatherproofing
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with buildings and equipment and provide recommendations for repair or replacement
  • Work in conjunction with other maintenance team members to identify and prioritize tasks, and communicate progress to Facilities Manager
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and complete work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain carpentry tools and equipment, and ensure they are kept in good working condition
  • Follow all safety protocols and adhere to all university/school policies and procedures
  • Communicate regularly with faculty and staff regarding maintenance and repair work, and provide excellent customer service
Qualifications:
 
  • 3+ years of carpentry experience 
  • Working With Childrens Check 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other maintenance team members
  • Experience with carpentry tools and equipment such as saws, drills, and sanders
