Senior Engineer

Fetch is working with a public sector organisation in Shepparton to recruit a Senior Engineer for a full time permanent role. 

Key responsibilities: 
  • Analyse and evaluate submitted engineering documentation including drawings and specifications relating to all private development to confirm compliance with relevant standards and requirements
  • Oversee construction of approved development plans 
  •  Conduct surveillance inspections at regular intervals
  • Issue Certificate of Practical Completion and consent to issue of a Statement of Compliance
  •  Provide handover advice of new subdivisional infrastructure assets to the Assets Team
  •  Analyse consultant technical reports and critique in conjunction with other engineers.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering designs, estimates and specifications.
  • Monitor and respond to customer requests in a timely and efficient manner (CRM)
  • Provide advice in relation to legal point of discharge for proposed developments
  •  Provide policy and design input to the organisationsIDM (Infrastructure Design Manual).
  •  Liaise with local statutory authorities to ensure compliance and best practice
  • A strong commitment to customer service in both an external and internal environment.
  • Prepare relevant cost estimates, plans, drawings, contract documentation, reports and correspondence.
  •  Provide technical engineering advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills required: 
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  •  Substantial experience in subdivision drainage design including flood modeling, catchment analysis and large scale drainage design
  • Relevant experience in a public sector engineering role.
  •  An operational understanding of the Planning and Environment Act, the Water Act, and the Building Act.
  • Experience in the use and application of civil engineering tools such as used in road and drainage design
  • Experience and competence in computer programs such as Excel and Word and ability to operate specialist business software.
