Location - Western Suburbs, Melbourne VIC

Salary - $130,000 - $160,000 Package

My client is one of the leading, full-service structural steel specialist, trusted by the biggest names in construction and engineering.

From design analysis and project management to engineering, shop detailing, manufacturing, delivery and installation, they manage every aspect in-house to ensure the highest quality standards at each step in the process. Over the last 40 years they have grown from a family business into an over 100 person business that is winning some of the largest Tier 1 projects in the commercial, correctional, retail, rail and infrastructure space.

With this growth they are continuing to win projects and are looking to expand the team of project engineers to come in and autonomously lead large scale projects. Role Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer in my clients team, you will:

  • Manage the project lifecycle from design to handover - ensuring the smooth running and delivery of the project within timeframes and cost constraints
  • Writing & submit OHS&E plans, SWMS, Erection Sequences & organise temporary Engineer
  • Draw up Crane Plans using Bluebeam or Acad. etc
  • Status the project weekly and sent weekly reports to senior management
  • Labour/Equipment Planning & organising
  • Client Meetings and being the first point of call with clients
  • Coordinator to close out all RFI's with builder and shop detailers
  • Aid and offer client steel solutions to problems arising on site
  • Implement, monitor and manage site workplace health and safety requirements
  • Project staging and programming for fabrication, delivery, and construction
  • Take a team approach to working with Stilcon internal stakeholders - Production, Procurement & Planning, Estimating & Shop Detailing teams
  • Monitor workshop fabrication and delivery times

Experience within the construction industry will be highly considered, but may not be essential for the right candidate. To be successful in your application for this position you will require the following:

  • Prior experience managing and delivering large scale construction projects
  • Preferred to have experience with a steel fabricator
  • Proven track record of Project Management estudies or experience with a keen desire to learn
  • Preference for Engineering qualifications and knowledge of the following programs
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn in a dynamic environment
  • Attention to detail and process-focused
  • Thorough understanding of WHSEQ regulations and requirements
