Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Leading Hand to join our team. As the Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and supervising construction activities, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards. Your leadership skills, technical expertise, and ability to effectively manage a team will contribute to the successful execution of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the team to complete designated construction activities.
- Lead and motivate a team of workers, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor and inspect work progress, providing guidance and support to team members to maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.
- Assist in training new team members, providing guidance on safe work practices and construction techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, labour hours, and work progress for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve any issues or challenges encountered during construction activities.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Competencies:
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Technical expertise: Proficiency in asphalt construction processes, with a solid understanding of industry standards and quality control.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, project stakeholders, and management.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues encountered during construction activities.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Leading Hand/ Team Leader
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, operate tools, and perform manual Labour.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime if needed.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
