A leading, privately owned HVAC contracting business has tasked Fetch with finding them a senior individual who can lead their in-house a team of HVAC Draftspeople. The company operates in the Tier 1&2 space on large commercial building projects across Education, residential towers, commercial towers, hospitals, datacentres, sporting infrastructure and other healthcare facilities including labs and research facilities.
The brief is essentially to lead a team of Revit/ Cad draftspeople and be the link between them and the Design Manager.
Day to day duties are as follows:

The brief is essentially to lead a team of Revit/ Cad draftspeople and be the link between them and the Design Manager.
Day to day duties are as follows:
- Management of intermediate and senior individuals
- Participation in recruitment process of new staff
- Report to leadership team and ensure communication is good on any struggles, requirements, introduction of new procedures etc
- Create detailed and accurate 2D and 3D drawings of HVAC systems including layouts, ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
- Ensure team coordinate with architects, engineers, and other managers to ensure the HVAC system integrates seamlessly with other building systems.
- Ensure team collaborate on planning and provide frequent updates to designs based on feedback and changes in project requirements.
- Perform heat load calculations to determine the capacity requirements of HVAC systems.
- Analyse building specifications and environmental conditions to ensure the system will provide adequate heating and cooling.
- Produce technical documents and drawings required for the installation, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems including detailed specifications, schedules, and material lists.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry standards and incorporate them into designs.
- Support PM’s by providing accurate drawings and documentation essential for project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Assist in troubleshooting design issues that arise during construction.
- Look for and implement ways to improve design efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality. (Optimise the layout of HVAC components and using the latest Revit features and BIM practices).
