Fetch Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a well renowned family business for a Buyer. Our ideal candidate will have a background within metals and previous purchasing experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a company which is expanding, with a number of long standing projects upcoming.
What You'll Do

• Evaluate and negotiate with potential suppliers based on their product quality, cost, delivery times, payment terms and customer service

• Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders to suppliers; monitors and expedites orders as needed

• Contribute to Supply Chain goals including cost reduction targets and increased spend under management through the utilization of Preferred Supplier contracts and new sourcing opportunities

• Track and report key functional metrics tracking overall cost reduction. Benchmarks, KPIs, and other data analytics will be used in order to meet or exceed departmental cost benefit goals, objectives, and spend measurements

• Assists with planning and forecasting of services and supplies.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, preferably some purchasing experience within retail or construction industry

• Understands business operations and needs

• Identifies and evaluates issues and uses good judgement to implement appropriate solution

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

• Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication
