Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into Recruitment.

I have always had a passion for helping other people. I did a psychology degree thinking that I really wanted to be a psychologist. I moved into a superior role at my previous workplace and found that I really enjoyed the managing side of things and being able to make a change to other employees lives as well as their individual career development. Based off that realisation, I studied Human Resource Management, with the idea of blending both of my degrees together. I never thought of moving into recruitment and to be honest I didn't really know what recruitment was and how much it entailed helping other people to succeed. I then tampered with the idea of temporary recruitment before moving onto a permanent desk with Fetch, and I am absolutely loving being able to assist other people make both personal and professional career moves that benefit their futures long-term.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?

I would have to say the culture that we have at Fetch (cliché I know). However, out of all the businesses I've ever worked for, Fetch would absolutely have to be the most supportive and encouraging. Every single employee wants to see each other thrive and succeed and will help each other achieve that. I am so grateful for my team!

What’s one thing you wish people knew about recruitment or your industry?

We are not all in it for a quick fee, I feel like recruitment can be looked down upon in the sense that recruiters all have the same common idea. But I can speak on behalf of all my colleagues in saying that we genuinely take pride an interest in the clients that we work with and in ensuring that we match candidates to the correct fit companies. Working with a recruitment consultant can be extremely beneficial especially if you are unsure of what your next move will be or if you don't really know what you want to get into. Having someone explore options with you and talk you through the entire process from start to finish is so rewarding for both ourselves as recruiters and for the candidates alike. If you haven't used a recruiter and you are looking at changing careers, I would suggest researching and reaching out to a recruiter that resonates with you.

#1 career highlight to date?

This would have to be my very first placement that I made with Fetch. Having a candidate reach out and express their gratitude and thanks for the time and effort I put into finding them the perfect position and prepping them beforehand - it makes all the hard work worth it every.single.time!

Your life mantra is:

“Fate favours the fearless.”

If your life were a movie which one would it be?

Hahahaha… look, I’m going to have to say Legally Blonde

What's your favourite song?

Sweet Caroline, but SURELY that’s everyone’s… right?

If you were on death row, what would be your last meal?

I'm going to have to say anything Mexican - and that may or may not have to do with the fact that I could potentially get one last bottomless Margarita ...

Name three things you are grateful for right now:

1. My health

2. The ability to hug my family and friends super tight again &

3. The warm weather that Melbourne is producing at the minute

Tell us a #FunFact about you

I absolutely love to make other people laugh. Whether that means having to make others laugh at my own expense or not haha
