Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into Recruitment.
I come from a Fitness and Psychology background but when I moved to Melbourne in 2017 I decided to try something different. That something different was Recruitment.
At my first Recruitment agency, I started working on the Cabinet Making desk before moving onto the Plumbing desk for over a year. Initially, it was mainly blue-collar contract roles but as I became more experienced in my role I found myself more interested in placing candidates into permanent career changing roles. This, in turn, led me to joining Fetch Recruitment in June to work on the Civil Infrastructure desk with a specific focus in recruiting for Major Rail & Road Projects with the largest Civil Contractors in Victoria.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?
Being based in Southbank – great location. Loads of options for food and drinks, fantastic views and Boost Juice being in the food court below us (big fan – why is there not a boost in St Kilda where I live??)
What’s one thing you wish people knew about recruitment / your industry?
We are not all CV flickers who are chasing the dollar bills. Some of us actually care about your careers and are passionate about the opportunities we are networking around
Number 1 career highlight to date?
Can I have two?
Last week when I caught up with the first permanent placement I made since I moved to Fetch the candidate told me it was the happiest he has been in his 14 years working as an Engineer.
At my last employer, I qualified for the high performers trip to New Zealand in my first full year with the business which was great
Your life mantra is / Your philosophy on life is / The words you live by are…
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right
Which celebrity would play you in the movie of your life?
Dwayne Johnson – we have a similar tan and if he worked a little harder in the gym he could probably get in as good of shape as I am in
If you were on death row, what would be your last meal?
Steak (medium-rare), sweet potato fries with a peppercorn sauce.
Name three things right now you are grateful for.
My family & friends, my health and a 3 week holiday in the Philippines to end the year.
Tell us a #FunFact about you!
Hahah there are a few things running through my head – none of which I will confess to for this blog.
I am currently training for my first Triathlon which I want to complete in the first quarter of the new year
One job I’m recruiting for RIGHT NOW is:
