Vicki Meet The Fetchies 2

Name: Vicki Iliopoulos

Position: Architecture Consultant

Time in role: 9 months

Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into Recruitment.

I fell into it like everyone else! Worked in sales until my company went into administration. I went to a recruiter for a new role and they offered me a position which opened up the idea of looking at recruitment consulting roles. Worked for another construction recruitment firm until my manager left and after a year and a half later, I finally followed him to Fetch.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?

It's definitely the people and culture, and everyone here would agree, can’t imagine spending 40 hours a week and experiencing the ups and downs with any other group of people.

What’s one thing you wish people knew about recruitment / your industry?.

Recruitment can somewhat have a bad image but we wouldn’t make it very far if the best interest of our clients and candidates weren’t at the forefront of our minds – the majority of us are very genuine and focus on building solid and long term relationships.

Number 1 career highlight to date?

Moving to Fetch of course! – But I was also the first consultant to make it to our high achievers trip of 2018 at my previous company!

Your life mantra is / Your philosophy on life is / The words you live by are…

You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there’s still going to be somebody who doesn’t like peaches

Which celebrity would play you in the movie of your life?

Reece Witherspoon because I am told I’m a lot like Elle Woods (not sure if that’s a compliment hahah)

If you were on death row, what would be your last meal?

Pizza but maybe like chips with gravy and cheese, sour straps or caramilk chocolate? Tim tams? Mash potato or lasagna? This is a hard one

Name three things right now you are grateful for.

My meditation app

My parents

Claire and all her outstanding candidates!

Tell us a #FunFact about you

I have Australian citizenship because my mum was born on a boat when my grandparents were on the way to Australia for a holiday

One job I’m recruiting for RIGHT NOW is:

An on-site architect on Education projects (help)
