In this weeks episode of #MeetTheFetchies, we are lucky enough to be talking to Peter Fakos, our civil construction consultant! Pete is one of the happiest souls we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and never fails to put a smile on everyone’s faces! Not only is he an absolute gun at his desk, he’s also a DJ on the weekends, an occasional baker of delicious Greek food, and a soccer superstar. Seriously.. is there anything this man can’t do?!

Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into recruitment.
Well, I started my career working for a training organisation called ‘Skillup Australia’ where I was a career consultant dealing mainly with HR recruitment companies. When Skillup closed down, I was head hunted by a client who I had been working with, and he just so happened to be at recruitment agency. I started off as a business development manager, managing the full 360 recruitment process. I was there for 2 years and found myself in the same unfortunate situation where they closed their Melbourne office. Since then I have been at Fetch, and what a great experience its been so far!
What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?
I love my team! They are just such great people to work and develop with. Everyday there is always something new and exciting.
What’s one thing you wish people knew about recruitment?
I think people knew the amount of effort recruiters go through to not only find the right candidate but also the about of exposure recruiters give to companies.
Number 1 career highlight to date:
Getting a job at Fetch and actually loving my job, and being able to represent such great clients to candidates.
