As a Botanist with our client, a leading environmental consultancy in Australia, you'll focus on office-based tasks including analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include leading state-wide botanical surveys, conducting flora assessments, and preparing technical reports for environmental assessments. Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking and leading botanical surveys throughout the State including detailed, basic, and targeted flora and community surveys and subsequent flora identification.
- Preparing technical reports including vegetation and flora assessments to support referrals and environmental assessments.
- Travel throughout the state to undertake surveys, often in remote locations for extended survey periods, but always considering your work/life balance.
- Conducting specific ecology surveys and assessments.
- Maintain knowledge of ecology and botanical guidance and approvals.
- Making technical decisions and providing solutions based on expertise.

Key Criteria:
- Degree qualification in environmental science or ecology discipline, zoology
- Significant experience consulting experience as a botanist, environmental scientist preferably within Western Australia.
- Current drivers’ licence (c class), manual preferred.
- Proven experience in and a sound understanding of current environmental issues and legislation.
- Proven experience in proposal development and project management and working as part of a team.
- Proven experience in supervision of junior team members, with the ability to mentor, and taking a leading role in field surveys.
- Ability to deliver critical project outcomes under pressure with enthusiasm and drive.
