About the opportunity:
Working directly with and supported by Principals/Project Directors, in delivering major projects, you will be involved in the structural design of non-process and process mining and industrial structures and related infrastructure. You will be provided opportunity to enhance your skills including technical, project management and client relationships. As a Lead Structural Engineer you will have opportunities to independently manage projects from commencement to handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing efficient structural engineering designs and overseeing the design documentation.
- Analysing structural systems for strength and serviceability conditions, including load combinations with mechanical loads, both static and dynamic.
- Project management including monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and negotiating variations to designs.
- Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, other engineering firms, contractors and authorities.
- Client coordination including, meeting our clients expectations and project objectives.
- Attending site for inspections.
- Leading a team of Engineers to deliver projects.
What You Will Bring:
Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include:
- Tertiary level qualifications in Civil Engineering.
- 5 years plus experience in mining or related industry, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients and other engineers.
- Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
- Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles utilising relevant standards and best practice methodologies in the mining industry.
- Experience or interest in advanced structural analysis including FEA, Structural Dynamics, Fatigue Analysis will be highly regarded and supported.
