This week our Meet the Fetchy spotlight is on our Managing Director, Brendan Redwood.
Brendan was working within the construction industry for 8 years, when the global financial crisis struck. Searching for a new job - his path crossed with Fetch's Founding Director, John Bell. This formed into a business relationship that would eventually see Brendan step out of the construction industry and into Recruitment.
Since that time, Brendan (being the true embodiment of 'career progression') climbed the ranks and has seen Fetch grow from a small business of 6 employees (in 2016) to the company that it is today - something he is immensely proud of. A well-travelled man, Brendan enjoys his time outside of work on the slopes or engrossed by American sport.

Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into Recruitment.
I worked in the Construction Industry for 8 years before I got into Recruitment. I was really fortunate to work on some really amazing projects from Multi Million dollar Residential projects to Major Infrastructure projects in the UK. It was the GFC and I was I looking for a change in role. I applied to roles through Recruiters and met with a couple of them. One being John Bell. My housemate at the time was in Recruitment and he really liked the job. So as well as discussing the construction roles available I also enquired about recruitment opportunities. At the time they didn’t have anything available. I got a call a month or two later from the agency wondering if I was still interested in a career in Recruitment, as someone had just left. That person was John. I took the role and haven’t looked back.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?
Easy. The people. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such great people. Making a difference in the markets we work in and having fun along the way.
What’s one thing you wish people knew about Recruitment or your industry?.
How much of a great career and how rewarding it can be. As an industry within Australia I think we could do a better job of promoting it as a real career path for people. I feel as though sometimes, people see recruitment as stop in their career not a destination -which I hope changes.
Number 1 career highlight to date?
Being part of team that has grown from 6 people back in 2016, to 28 employees currently. That is a great effort and one that everyone at Fetch should be proud of.
