Responsibilities:

  • Respond to payroll queries and/or redirect as appropriate

  • Upload single touch payroll along with superannuation to clearing house

  • Reconcile payroll clearing accounts

  • Prepare monthly compliance payments and file certificates

  • Continually improving processes and assisting with procedural implementations, updates, and training

  • Contribute to the broader Finance Team through undertaking a variety of Finance-related tasks as time permits under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and the Group Accountant

  • Compile and reconcile year end summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, superannuation Workcover and payroll tac entitlements

  • Establish and formalise standard operating procedures for the payroll function

  • Archiving

  • Conduct internal audits

  • Maintain training records

  • Schedule training

  • Undertake ad hoc tasks


A bit about you:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Financial/Accounting ideal, but not essential

  • A minimum of 3 years in a standalone payroll function

  • Experience in the construction industry in a payroll or similar function is desirable

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work within a team, and have strong people skills
