This national award-winning consultancy has a strong reputation in the industry due to its formidable projects and incredible team meaning they have a continuous and diverse pipeline of projects across greenfield and brownfield sites. They have been an industry leader for over 40 years and are going from strength to strength. Due to acquiring multiple land development projects and an internal promotion they are looking for a new design manager.


Your New Role
This is an incredible opportunity that will see you as the design manager of an already capable and highly professional design team. You will be reporting to the Urban and civil infrstrcuture group leader and you will have several responsibilities.

  • 12D Design management and documentation for civil infrastructure and land development projects including sewer, stormwater, drainage plans
  • Feasibility and project planning
  • Bulk earthworks, road design and drainage
  • Allocation of design packages and mentoring a team of 15 designers as well as involvement with the CAD team
  • Client representation and attending meeting with design updates and input
  • Involved with strategic goals and growth of the business across the country
  • QA checking and verification of design plans
  • Assist the project management team at various stages of a project

This will be a diverse role as you will have the opportunity to increase your experience in client relationship management as well as project management depending on what suits your passion, drive and long-term career aspirations.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Ideally you will have 10+ years' experience for a Victorian consultancy in civil design across a range of land development or infrastructure projects
  • An engaging and charismatic leader who build rapport easily and is driven and passionate about the engineering space
  • Experienced with 12D software as well as AutoCAD
  • Civil Engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification
  • Sewer and water MRWA design accreditations
  • The ability to motivate, mentor and improve efficiencies within a design team
